AMA ANNOUNCES ACTIONS TO STREAMLINE BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND EXPAND CAPABILITIES, APPOINTS AMA MANAGING DIRECTOR AND GOULD ALLOYS COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
West Midlands, XX November 2021 - Aero Metals Alliance (AMA), a global partnership of leading metals suppliers to the global defence and aerospace manufacturing industries, today outlined the strategic, operational and organisational steps it is taking to streamline the alliance.
These actions are the result of a comprehensive assessment of AMA's strengths and challenges, and its most promising opportunities Specifically, AMA announced plans to incorporate Wilsons Metals Limited (Wilsons) into the Gould Alloys Ltd (Gould Alloys) operations by [INSERT DATE]. The consolidation will begin immediately and will be a staged process to facilitate a smooth transition without affecting customer service levels.
Gould Alloys is a high integrity ferrous and nonferrous metals stockholder and distributer, and is widely recognised as a reliable global aerospace materials service provider. Established in 1947, Wilsons is an independent metal stockholder, with a reputation for fast, efficient, high-quality service and complex contract expertise.
The two highly compatible businesses will be united at the current Gould Alloys site in Chesterfield and will operate as one business under the Gould Alloys Ltd name. The consolidated operations will serve to streamline processes, improve operational excellence, sharpen focus, and continue to deliver added value to clients.
Speaking about the streamlining of the Wilsons and Gould Alloys operations, Chris Norch, AMA President said, “This is a very exciting development for our businesses and ultimately for our customers. We will continue our cohesive customer facing approach all under one roof, resulting in an improved service offering to our global customer base.”
He continued, “There has already been considerable investment in Gould Alloys Chesterfield site, which will now be extended further to accommodate our market leading stock range, along with significant capital investment in new plant and equipment.”
Enhanced operational structure
As part of the strategic development of the business, AMA has made two senior-level hires. Arnaud Tronche joins AMA UK Ltd. in the newly-created role of General Manager, and Jane Bradshaw assumes the role of Commercial Director, Gould Alloys Ltd.
Arnaud Tronche will oversee the operations of AMA’s UK facilities. He has 25 years’ aerospace, defence and powergen industry experience. Prior to joining AMA, Arnaud was Chief Operating Officer at Alvance Engineering. Previously, he was an Associate Director at TWI, and worked at Aubert & Duval for 15 years as Head of Customer Technical Development, before progressing to Business Unit Director.
Gould Alloys plays a significant part in AMA’s strategic ambition to continue to be a leading player in global aerospace industry supply services. To build on this strategy and support future growth, Gould Alloys has appointed Jane Bradshaw as Commercial Director. Jane has been with the business for [XX] years and has extensive knowledge in aerospace materials supply. She will assume her new role with immediate effect.
